I still work on weekends with B106.7, and I still love it! I occasionally fill-in for Chris on weeknights, and I love that, too!
Hey, I love B106.7...can you tell????
It's a great station with great people and great music...not to mention our GREAT listeners out there!

I've been in radio for a number of years...working with WKDK (AM 1240) in Newberry (my hometown), and also a brief stint at an FM station in the Newberry area back in 1989.

But in August 2004, I had a wonderful opportunity to be part of WTCB, and I've been here for the past five years, playing Columbia's Best Variety of Music, and enjoying every minute of it!

The absolute "best variety" for me are mainly tunes from the 70s and 80s, but I like just about any kind of music...pop, 70s, country, 80s, jazz, 70s, soul, 80s...hey, did I mention that I really like 70s and 80s music? (I couldn't remember.) I can't carry a tune, but I love to sing along with all the songs just the same. Nobody likes to come into the control room when I'm working, for that very reason. I finally figured that one out.

I'm married to a GREAT guy (Glenn) who totally supports my radio passion each week, and I have two extraordinary sons (not to be partial) who make me so proud to be a mom each and every day...well, MOST days (just kidding)! They're my boys who like to sing along to "Dancing Queen" with me everytime we hear it. By the way, they also took me to see the movie "Mamma Mia" when Glenn wouldn't do it. How's that for loving their mom? But I bribed them with popcorn and candy, so it worked out! And I think they actually enjoyed the movie (just like me).

Speaking of movies, I'm a big fan of nostalgia...especially stuff from the 70s and 80s. I like to find any kind of info/audio/video from movies, TV shows, commercials, etc, especially from the 70s and 80s. Some call me "pop culture crazy" with the retro scene, and others call me just plain crazy. I even asked my family if I could decorate a room in our new house with nothing but 70s and 80s memorabilia. I don't think they're too keen on that...I may have to buy some more popcorn and candy!

Regarding the nostalgia, I put together this short audio (a minute or so) that you can play if you want. It kind of defines me and some of my "loves" from the 70s and 80s, rather than listing them all for you on this page. (Note that there are a couple of clips from my favorite movie of all time...see if you can recognize that one (and all of the other clips, too.) If you like 70s and 80s nostalgia like I do, you'll probably appreciate it. Let me know if you like it, and if you don't...well...let me know that, too!

By the way, I'm thinking of starting up a 70s/80s nostalgic type of website, and I would love to include any ideas that each of you may have. If you have any photos (especially from the 70s and 80s) that you'd like to share, or if you'd like to send me one of your favorite memories from that time, I would love to see it. With all the ideas and memories from our B106.7 listeners, we could put together a really cool website!

I'm going to be adding some more info re: all of that soon, so be sure to check back here often for that and other updates to my page (remember...e-mail me anything that you would maybe want to contribute to a special 70s/80s website). I'll keep you posted on the progress of that.
